Creating a crawling Symbiote creature in Houdini 

In this course, you will learn how to utilize different Houdini contexts to create a complex alien creature locomotion system. We will dive deep inside the Vellum and FEM solvers in order to achieve realistic softbody movement and wrinkles, as well as liquid slime made with FLIP solver.

What you will learn

  • Advanced Houdini softbody simulations

Prerequisites

The primary requirement for this course is intermediate experience in Houdini software, particularly with different solvers, the SOP context and fundamentals of 3D rendering.

Outside my work as a CG generalist on TV and commercials, i'm  passionate about simulations and creatures.  My background involves working as an FX TD for french post-production companies like Digital District, Multiply and WAM, as well  as middle-eastern TV channels and a large variety of international clients.

Being often involved with mixed reality work , my goal is to blur the lines between fiction and reality. I constantly seek the unusual and explore the unknown, which is why I chose Houdini to create new creature locomotion and softbody simulation systems. 

My personal work reflects my desire to innovate in the field of simulation and i'm here to share what i spent hundreds of hours researching and developing.
